I was born in Warren, Ohio and raised in the suburbs of Columbus. In 2007 I graduated with honors from Ohio University with a Bachelor of Science in Sports Management and a Minor Concentration in Business. After a short time interning with the Buffalo Bills I decided to pursue a career in fitness training. I was certified through the American Council on Exercise in 2008 and began training clients at local clubs in Columbus.
In early 2010 I was introduced to CrossFit by a friend and instantly changed the way I was training myself and my clients. The results from CrossFit were remarkable and in early 2011 I became a Level 1 CrossFit Trainer with the goal of training CrossFit full-time. In May 2011, myself and three friends opened Friendship CrossFit in Dublin, Ohio. For over five years I was the head trainer and programmer for what grew to be one of the most successful and well respected Affiliates in the midwest.
During my time at Friendship I had numerous opportunities to compete in CrossFit and Weightlifting. I was part of the Friendship CrossFit team that competed at the Central East Regional in 2012 and 2013. I also love supporting local competitions and have competed and volunteered a lot over the past 6 years. From 2013-2016 I competed as a 77kg weightlifter (a very tall 77kg lifter) with numerous podium finishes and my first gold at the 2015 Midwest Open – Strongest Unicorn. I enjoy competition but my real passion has always been coaching. Along with being a CrossFit and Weightlifting coach at Friendship, I had the honor of working on the CrossFit Weightlifting Seminar Staff.
In 2016, Kristen and I left Ohio for sunny Arizona to embark on a new adventure. MINT Strength represents a new beginning for us and a chance to surround ourselves with a community of people that love to be happy, healthy and fit!
OUTSIDE THE GYM:
Outside of the gym I enjoy spending time with Kristen and our dog Nala. I love food and am constantly searching for restaurants that use quality ingredients. I like to find creative ways to be active and enjoy giving back to the community. I have been blessed to go on numerous mission trips including Biloxi, MS (twice) after Hurricane Katrina and Chiang Mai, Thailand with Global Village (an international division of Habitat for Humanity). I look forward to using MINT Strength as a platform to bring people together to serve.
